Yes, I do not post here often anymore. Weird how things have changed.
Anyway, the last thing I posted here was Gary being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
A few days later, they told him he had bone marrow cancer and his doctors left him to die in the hospital bed. The nurses were wonderful and let my mother stay with him the whole time.
I did get to say goodbye to him while he was still lucid even when in horrible pain. He had me come over to him and told me he loved me. I replied, "I love you, Dad", and he gave me the biggest smile. I had never called him Dad before - he had always been Gary and always will be Gary to me. Gary equals Dad.
Gary lost his battle with liver, pancreatic and bone marrow cancer September 30, 2016, early in the morning.
This is the beautiful sunrise God made to welcome Gary home! I bet it was even more beautiful from the Other Side!
